Cause and Effect...and YOU!

Did you know that we may see many examples of cause and effect in our own life? For example, when Robbie was trying to work on remodeling our bathroom he accidentally broke our bathtub so we ended up having to buy a new one even though we weren't planning on it! The cause is that he broke the tub so the effect is that we had to buy a new one.

Penguins Habitats?!

Now that Mr. Popper has TWO penguins he has a lot to take care of. He is keeping two animals that belong in the antartic in his house filled with snow. Do you think it is fair to keep animals that belong in an arctic climate in Stillwater? Do you think he is being a responsible pet owner? Why or why not?

Mr. Popper's Travels

In the book Mr. Popper's Penguins the main character, Mr. Popper, wants to travel the world. His favorite place though is Antarctica because he LOVES penguins. If you were a scientist and could travel anywhere around the world where would you go? What would you study there? Would there be anything else interesting to do there?

Mr. Popper's Penguins is a book about a funny man that LOVES penguins. Based on what we've read about him so far, what predictions can you make about the story? What do you think will happen to him and his family?
